About

Courtney C. Trowman, aka CC Bella, is an expressive and whole-hearted artist on a mission to create eco-conscious pieces that move the viewer through a journey filled with magical intentions and surprise details.

“ Art, in all its forms, doesn’t always need to be understood to be appreciated - it’s about how a creation makes you feelthe vibes it gives off. Personally, I don’t believe in quote-unquote good or bad art because it’s simply too subjective and people are so diverse.”

Courtney arrived in Savannah at the start of 2016 and began showing her work around town in 2019. A lifelong and evolving artist, Courtney is a self-published poet, professional modern dancer and former Assistant Director, whose work has been on display at Sulfur Studios, RootsUp Gallery, Corkhouse Gallery, Cedar House Gallery, the JEA, Coffee.Deli, Locally Made Savannah, STUMP, LiteFoot Company, Vendors on Victory, Islands Cottage Art, White Whale Craft Ales, Savannah Gallery of Art, 208 Wine Bar, and the Nest on 33rd. She is also a member of both the Savannah Art Association and Arts on the Coast.

Recently, Courtney has become a Certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach and been exploring a spectrum of colors, new styles and techniques. She’s been spending most of her creative time exploring a deeper interpretation of her abstracts, bringing even more emotional processing into her pieces, and honing her intuitive flow. It’s important to Courtney to continue to teach herself through the act of “play” and stay just outside of her comfort zone so she can broaden her range rather than committing to a specific niche.

Her 3D collage art and abstract work began 15 years ago in Los Angeles and was born out of an inherent need for expression, a passion for art, and the discovery that her style didn’t flow through the traditional forms of  realistic painting or drawing. Courtney is self-taught by curiosity, play and experimentation and incorporates her ethos of upcycled materials in the canvases she finds second hand, the used paint that comes from Starlandia Supply, and the surprise found or recycled detail here and there. Courtney’s work just hits differently when you are up close and personal so watch her events page for upcoming shows.
